How to Get Fit in the Winter |
|||||
If you are looking to lose weight rather than gain it this winter, then outdoor exercise is the way forward. You may have to rethink your wardrobe. You’ll need a decent jacket to keep the wind and rain off you – North Face coats come in subdued colours if you don’t want to stand out from the commuter crowd. For your feet, on dry days trainers may be your best option – and you can keep a pair of heels at the office. On wet days, why not invest in a pair of women's snow boots – they’ll protect your feet from wet winter slush and keep them warm, too. As well as exercising regularly, you should take care not to over indulge when eating. Just because you’re burning more calories than you’re used to doesn’t give you carte blanche to have too many naughty treats like cream cakes and chocolate. The idea behind regular exercise is that you will burn excess calories and shed excess pounds in the process. Once you’ve mastered the extra walking, you’ll feel more inclined to add other kinds of exercise to your week, such as like jogging or swimming. Remember, the first little step is always the hardest, so just go for it and make that first little step, and you'll be on the way to a healthier you. |
